China Water Supply Service Promotion Alliance held the award ceremony for “People Who Moved Water Industry (1st session)” at Beijing Friendship Hotel in the evening, April 13. Hu Qing, the president of CECDADI Environmental Remediation Co.,Ltd, was invited to present and award the prize to thewinner.
The selection period of “People Who Moved Water Industry (1st session)” has lasted for more than 4 months, while 26 companies participated, and the prize-winners were selected through online voting and experts’ selection. 20 people from water supply companies in Hunan, Guangzhou, Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi and other regions were nominated for “People Who Moved Water Industry” and 5 of them gained the award.
The award party took “ordinary and moved” as its theme, aimed at promoting the meritorious deeds of front-line workers and carrying forward their extraordinary ideal on the ordinary position, so as to set industrial models, help the public to understand the water supply industry and practitioners, as well as promote healthy and sustainable development of water industry. There were more than 100 guests from environment industry, water supply companies, associated media and research institutions attended the party.
Hu Qing, who was the PHD of British Imperial College, and the president of CECDADI Environmental Remediation Co.,Ltd, was invited to present and award the prize toSun Yanchun, who is a vice captain of Jiangyin repair team in Jiangnan Water Company.
The selection of “People Who Moved Water Industry” were set up referring to the Stockholm Water Prize, and aimed at promoting the development of China water industry. The Stockholm Water Prize was presented since 1991 and known as the Noble Prize in water sector, which is a big prize to world water resource protection and the improvement of human and ecosystem health. President Hu Qing is the only Chinese person in the Stockholm Water Prize awards committee.
