Engineering Center

The State Environmental Protection Engineering Center for Industrial Contaminated Sites and Groundwater Remediation (hereafter referred to as the Center) was established and supported by CECEP Group and CECDADI. Under the guidance of the MEP, the Center is oriented by the needs of industrial contaminated site (soil and groundwater) remediation industry. It functions to research and develop the generic and key technologies in industrial contaminated site (soil and groundwater) remediation, promote the scientific and technical innovation of key technologies and their engineering development, push forward demonstration promotion and industrialization application, to offer professional training to the professionals and regulators in environmental remediation field, and create a platform for industry-university-research cooperation. Besides, the Center also participates in drafting policies, standards and guidelines in industrial contaminated site (soil and groundwater) remediation industry, and provides technical supports and services for national environmental management, supervision and decision-making.

As an engineering center under the MEP, the demonstration and bench marking effects of the Center are significant to promote and regulate the development of the industrial contaminated sites and groundwater remediation industry, build up and upgrade the international competitiveness and influence of the companies in this field, accelerate the development of emerging industry in environmental protection, guarantee the people’s livelihood and the environmental safety& health.

Development Strategy

The Center aims to become an internationally recognized engineering center. Through building scientific research platform and professional team, the center aims to become the leader of contaminated site remediation industry, and offer technical supports for contaminated site remediation and national environmental management.

General Design

The center aims to build up an industry-university-research cooperation system, carry out technological innovations in an active way, accelerate technical industrializations, carry out demonstration projects and draft relevant guidelines and standards. , Driven by technological innovation and transformation, a sustainable contaminated site remediation mode is expected. The general idea includes:

To create a comprehensive platform: a platform for research and development of core technologies and equipment, for engineering technologies integration, for industrialization of new technologies, for industry-university-research cooperation, talents cultivation and national education.

To gather a group of professional technical/management/comprehensive talents in the field of contaminated sites and groundwater remediation.
