The Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning (CAEP) and China Geological Survey (CGS) jointly hold an international workshop in Beijing, from June 23th to June 24th.This international workshop focus on a series of issues about the groundwater pollution prevention and control, which is guided by The National Groundwater Pollution Prevention and Control Planning (2011-2020) and other policies. Ms.Yu Xiaodong, who is Vice Chief Engineer of CECDADI, participates this workshop and makes a presentation.
In the presentation, Mrs.Yu shows a brief introduction about the regulatory framework for contaminated sites in Canada. Topics involve a few cases, groundwater pollution prevention management experience, and the management of contaminated sites and groundwaterpollution. The presentation is widely acclaimed by participants.
Besides, the workshop also invited officers from the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) and other government departments, experts and scholars from industrial and academic institutes, and NGO. The participants widely discuss the issues about groundwater pollution problem, current research, lessons learned, theoretical innovation, groundwater management and strategic decision-making, etc.
