On July 24th,2013, the third China-U.S. Environmental Industries Forum, which is the important window and symbolic activity of the China-U.S. cooperation in Environmental protection, was held in the Capital Xindadu Hotel in Beijing. Hu Qing, president of CECDADI Environmental Remediation Co. Ltd., attended the forum and introduced the business progress of CECDADI and the Contaminated Site and Ground Water Remediation Engineering Centre owned by the company. Chinese and foreign companies presented at the forum spoke highly of the leading position of CECDADI in the field of contaminated site remediation industry in China.
The third China-U.S. Environmental Industries Forum was hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Ministry of Commerce, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and was organized by China Association of Environmental Protection Industry (CAEPI) and the Commerce Ministry of U.S. embassy in China. The officers of these organizations attended the Forum as honored guests. 150 representatives from China and U.S. government, enterprises, industry associations, research institutions and media also participated in the forum.
The forum concentrated on “cooperation in environmental protection industry and technology” and enabled the communication and created opportunities for cooperation between the two countries on policy, management, market and technical progress in the field of environmental protection.
President Hu Qing made a speech on this forum. She talked about the current situation of soil and ground water contamination and the relevant policies, and pointed out that due to the lack of regulations and policies, the new emerging industry of contaminated site remediation is now suffering from unordered competition. As the only central government-owned enterprise engaged in this industry, the CECDADI would take the advantage of the engineering center granted by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection to do demonstration projects to regulate and lead the industry.
President Hu Qing’s speech was highly appreciated and showed the leading position of CECDADI in the industry. She also communicated deeply with other experts and entrepreneurs on the topic of technology and R&D cooperation.
The vice chief engineer, Yu Xiaodong also attended this forum.
